Headlamp Tester

What to look for in a headlamp tester
With the advent of ‘complex’ and ‘hi-energy (Xenon) headlamp systems it is now necessary to acquire one of the new generation of headlamp testers. It is mandatory for all new MOT stations to employ this equipment and the key to whether a headlamp tester falls in to this category is to check that it was approved for use by VOSA on or after 1st January 2006. Some models include sensing devices to enable a beam to be checked and set very accurately. Since the quality of beam setting is an issue with VOSA, it is worth considering this option where available.
Trademaster Headlamp Tester

Trademaster headlamp testers have been designed to meet and exceed the requirements set down by VOSA for checking and setting all current headlamp designs. All models feature a special ‘fresnel’ lens for maximum light collection and image quality. As a bonus, this type of lens permits top quality beam assessment even if the optical head is misaligned by as much as 50mm vertically or horizontally - a feature which speeds up positioning the equipment. We also use a laser to make angular alignment with the vehicle quick and easy. Trademaster headlamp testers have an enormous operating range of between 100 to 1200mm making them suitable for almost any application including replacement of old equipment.

Our headlamp testers have a pedigree steeped in use with vehicle manufacturers. We offer various models to suit cars and commercial vehicles in either an MOT or normal workshop environment.
